"Lucky One" is the culmination of several service members I have known and had the honor to serve with. Hard working, committed and determined individuals who would give their life for their fellow service member and their country. Some did. With that commitment comes great sacrifice. This song is for those who may not only bear the physical scars of combat and service but those struggling with invisible scars that can hide deep inside. My hope with “Lucky One” is to help raise awareness for those dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), let them know they are not alone, that there is help and there is hope.
This acoustic version was recorded during the taping of a live video. It was captured live and in one take. While not as polished as the full band studio version you can hear on the 2010 ‘Stand’ EP, its bare bones and raw. I figure its not perfect but none of us are.
All the proceeds from the song benefit the Semper Fi Fund.
