Sa-da-kO are a 5 piece metal band based in the north west which has been running with its current line up since early 2009.
Within the first 12 months the band have managed to achieve a large, loyal and ever growing fan base, held some of the largest UK music events - The Zombie Apocalypse franchise and The Dark Carnival, and also released their first independent album – Zer01, which features the single RED which had a full featured music video filmed for it and to top that off you can puchase Zer01 of most major music sites such as iTunes, Amazon, Zune, Last FM and Bandcamp been just a couple to name.
With all that happening within 12 months, what they have to follow is going to be even bigger better and more sick ass, as they are currently recording new tracks, planning the next music videos and of course the next big shows which are not to be missed.....
Subservience was formed at the tail end of 2009 as a side project between Ryan and Martin. Pretty much happening by complete accident and with plenty of alcohol involved! As both guys were already pursuing their musical interests in other bands, (Martin - Locust Resin & Ripped In Half, Ryan had just formed a new band called Nothing Left with Scott) both guys weren''t interested in taking things too seriously. But it quickly became apparent that there was something just a little bit different with the songs that were being written and that working together writing songs was proving far too easy to ignore.
By Christmas 2009 there was a few songs written and it was decided that it was important that the music on the PC needed to become a reality.
It was then suggested that Scott, (who worked with Ryan as a guitarist in Nothing Left) join in on the project and put down his trusted six string and pick up the bass. Scott duly obliged and began laying down some thunderous heavy basslines onto some of the demo songs. More songs being written at a faster pace and each one individual sounding was just making the guys more and more hungry to get the music out there. Only one problem, up until now the drummer was in fact a program on Martin''s PC and some of the blastbeats and double bass parts were pretty crazy! Where on earth are they going to find a human version of this drum machine???
Enter Mats Sodahl, a friend that Ryan and Scott had met in June 2009 at Download. Mats lived in Norway but kept in regular touch with the guys via Facebook and was constantly getting invites to come back to England and hang out. Mats was already in a band by the name of Shotgun Rodeo who were making waves back in Trondheim, but was always keen to try out other things. So by the start of 2010, Mats was in England and behind the drumkit banging out the blastbeats better than any fucking drum program could!!
Some rough demos were cut and ready for releasing, to not only the public but to potential vocalists as well.
Having being influenced by many different bands, (Carcass and Devin Townsend''s many projects, right through to Faith No More and all the bands inbetween!!)and genres (Technical Death Metal to Hip Hop) Subservience is aiming to make people turn round and listen! And its Believed by many that this may well happen a lot sooner than they think!!!
Both Artists have featured heavily in the UK press and are set to feature at 2011 Metal Hammer''s Metal fest 3. the battle rages on
