This album has been out of print and circulation almost since the band originally disbanded in 1993. The band reunited in late 1997 to record another album RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD which was a combination of out takes from the original SAND RUBIES recordings plus new songs written by Rich Hopkins and Dave Slutes. The record label and mangaer''s idea was that the SIDEWINDERS original name(CUACHA,WITCHDOCTOR AND AUNTIE RAMOS POOL HALL) would not be missed once the Sand Rubies selt titled album came out in 1991 but that wasn''t the case at all. From RCA/Mammoth Records, we signed to Ensign(Sinead O''Connor, Water Boys, Blue Airplanes) but they lost their distribution deal to Chrysalis and we were in the middle. Our manager eventually got us a deal with Atlas /Polygram so this same album came out in late 1992. By then we had lost our rythem section of Mark Perrodin and Bruce Halper. We pressed on with hopes of fame and stardom with a new label, new band name and new rythem section and allot of tour money but it wasn''t meant to be. Something happened during the year and half of waiting around for another deal . basically we stopped being the band that made us who we really were. Maybe we didn''t change with the times, got "fat" with label money etc. It''s all history now.
