Details:
There is a certain energy to some music; something that sets it aside. It isn''t passive, background or tossed-off, and regardless of genre it brims with life and immediacy. This music beckons and challenges its audience, expecting as much of listeners as they expect in return. Such music is never content. Each moment, whether recorded or performed, is a frozen glimpse at something very fluid and powerful. A still frame of creativity, passion and an ever-evolving process.

The four members of Hunger Hush believe in this music very strongly. It''s the sound that inspires them, pouring out of the records of their favorite musicians. They strive to create that kind of energy in their own music, and hope that the listener will find it - gliding on delicate harmonies, ringing from strong choruses and lurking behind grimy riffs. Hunger Hush began as backing band for guitarist Steve Wirzba. He brought in Andrew Smale (Bass), Ben Tan (Drums) and Alastair Pollock (Keys) to expand on the sounds and songs that he had been carefully crafting by himself. They played several shows in this setup, and along with the joy of playing music together, there was the collective realization that there was more to be explored. All of the members had been friends before this project, and it showed in how they played - bouncing ideas off each other, broadening existing ideas and striking out territory together that each of the members wouldn''t have found on their own. An original band was needed to encompass this new direction, and that band is Hunger Hush.

United not by singular musical tastes or backgrounds, the common thread to the band is the energy each of the members crave. At times quiet and seething, and others raucous and playful, the goal is always the same: To play music that excites the band, and to bring that excitement to a waiting audience.
