IAN Bio:
In August 25th, 1978, Jean Manuel Diaz, aka IAN, was born. At a very young age he showed interest in musical instruments, playing around with his Dad''s synths and digital recorders in the living room of his family house in Juncos, Puerto Rico. Jean started to take piano lessons when he was 7 years old inspired by the love his dad had for keyboards and the sweet singing voice of his mother. But it wasn''t until fresh man year of College that Jean decided to form a band. Orbe Azul, a latin rock band, was his first project. Ten years later, and after having great experiences with a few bands, including Bletzung (a rock alternative band based in Austin, Tx), Jean came back to Puerto Rico in 2008 and formed IAN. The band concept started as a four piece band, but a few months later, his friend, producer and guitarist Hector "PopTweaker" Camacho abandoned the band to move to NY, and IAN became a power trio concept band. Jean is in charge of the songwriting, guitars, keyboards and electronic parts, Esteban Perez is the bass player, and his old friend from Bletzung, Ruben Martinez plays the drums. "A Donde Iras" EP, IAN first recorded material, was released in november 2008. The first single, "A Donde Iras", got in the Top 10 of Alfa Rock 105.7fm for 8 weeks, supported by a music video produced by IAN and directed by Juano Santos, giving the band the chance to start to get known in the Puerto Rico Rock scene. IAN just released there new album IAN [Luces Azules]Pt.1. This album includes 9 songs with sounds that travels from the pop side of IAN melodies to the power and energy of the alternative rock that always distinguishes them. The album release was backed up by the release of the new music video, "Volverás". This video was produced and directed by Jean Manuel itself and Juano Santos.
