The Long Count Formed at the end of 2008, The Long Count is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Randy Hughey and bassist Rodney Johnson. Consisting of five members all together, keyboard player and saxophonist John Saunders and guitarist Gary Hebert alo...ng with Drummer Scott Hickok complete the lineup. Even though the songs have different moods the overall style is The Long Count’s own. The music of The Long Count has a Downtempo and introspective vibe. Sad and somber lyrically, the music ranges from serious and smooth to peaceful and playful. Although members of The Long Count are spread out across the country (Grand Rapids MI, Chicago IL and Los Angeles CA) the group has managed a number of performances and has recorded a collection of songs at Broadside Studios in Kalamazoo MI. After eighteen months of slow and diligent work mixing, emailing and remixing, S.O.L.A.R. (Songs of loss and regret), The Long Count''s depute album is now complete.
