1 THE TROP-ROCK SHOW . . . One freezing cold snowy day in Pittsburgh I walked into a record store (back then they had record stores). On a album cover I saw a guy chillin’ and laying in a hammock-playing guitar with a parrot on the headstock. I said, "I must have that album". I took it home and fell in love with the sound of “Songs You Know By Heart”. I am not just a Buffett fan, I love all Trop-Rock music. The people in the Trop-Rock circle are nice and they know how to party . .“I Have Found Me A Home". 2 CRUNCHE’S SONG . . . One of the first people I met when I moved to the beach was an old Army Captain, who introduced himself to me as “Captain Crunch”. He was sitting in a new dive shop talking shit to the two young men who just opened this shop. Later that day I went into a local marina bar (called “Captain Poo’s” you can’t make this stuff up) and there was Captain Crunch having lunch and a beer or three. I was new in town and didn’t know anybody and I guess Crunch knew that so he invited me to sit with him and have lunch. He started telling me the most amazing stories of him in the war were he was a helicopter instructor pilot and how he was shot down three times (which is were he got his nick name “Captain Crunch”). That was about fifteen years ago and I still run into Crunch at Poo’s bar about three times a week, and he almost always has a new and exciting story to tell. By the way his boat’s name really is Crunchy Stuff. This song is about my very good friend (I shouldn’t tell you his name (Ben) ''cause that wouldn’t be right (Edkins) he is not afraid to use his boat. Some of the best times I have ever had were when we have been together on a boat. Even if we were standing in the shallows next to his boat when it was "Run-A-Ground".
