Ever since The A.Y.U. Quartet formed way back in 1991, we''ve talked about doing a Christmas album. We all love the music, and we''ve sung literally hundreds of holiday gigs over the years.
Finally it happened! The quartet all flew into Los Angeles for one marathon weekend in February 2010, rented a great studio, and essentially lived there to create our long-awaited Christmas release. "Acappella Yuletide Uproar" is the collection of our most favorite tunes from the season; some old ones that we''ve done for years, and some new ones that were created that very weekend!
We love taking classic songs and putting the AYU twist on them, and we hope you''ll enjoy hearing what we''ve done. Unusual harmonies, shifting time signatures and tempos, some random silliness, it''s all here. Grab some egg-nog, settle down by the crackling fire, and let AYU sing you to your visions of sugarplums!
