WORLD: Celtic, FOLK: Traditional Folk

Details:
Whisky Before Breakfast is a four piece band playing traditional Irish tunes and folksongs in the style of the Clancy Brothers and the Irish Rovers. If your toes aren''t tapping after you hear this music, then please check for a pulse. Finding none, be sure to call us to play for the wake, you might just get lucky like Tim Finnigan! (see song #16).
The Band is:
DAVE ANDREWS: Lead vocals and Bodhran
Dave fell in love with the music of his Celtic heritage in 1992 when he became a founding member of the Sierra Nevada Celtic Society in Reno, Nevada. Soon he was singing a party piece or two at ceilidhs and pub nights. With the encouragement of society friends Dave got together with guitarist Jim Hutchins and former fiddler Chris Bayer to form Gael Force. Dave provides the vocals for the group and loves to sing ballads about his favorite subjects of war and freedom, love and women and of course a good dram of Whisky!
JIM HUTCHINS: Rhythm guitarist
Jim played bluegrass and folk music until about 10 years ago, when he fell in love with Celtic music. He is a veteran of several Celtic bands, including the Dark Island Ceilidh Band and Gael Force. Jim and Dave have been together since 1995 as founding members of Gael Force and Whisky Before Breakfast. The rich, full sound of Jim’s 12-string guitar provides the harmonic foundation for vocals and melody instruments, from haunting ballads to toe-tapping dance tunes.
SUE BENNETT: Flutes, Penny Whistles
Sue has been playing the flute since she was 8 years old. Originally from Western Pennsylvania, she graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Music Education. She has taught music in Pennsylvania, Idaho and Nevada. Sue has won solo competitions with the Pittsburgh Symphony, played with the Reno Pops Orchestra, and is currently teaching K-6 music in Washoe County, Nevada. Her Celtic ancestry led her to her interest in playing penny whistle. She has been playing flute and whistles with Whisky Before Breakfast since 2001.
BRUCE MCBETH: fiddle
Bruce has performed professionally for several years as violinist and fiddler in many Northern Nevada, California groups ranging from classical to bluegrass and Celtic traditions. He received his Bachelor''s and Master''s degree through the University of Nevada''s Orchestral Studies Program as a member of the Nightengale String Quartet. He also plays viola in the High Noon Quartet and violin with the Reno Philharmonic, Reno Chamber Orchestra, Reno Opera Orchestra, and the Mendocino Festival. Recently, he has been spending more and more time in the construction of the box under the chin in hopes that violin-making will become his new career allowing him to just have fun playing music with different groups like "Whisky Before Breakfast"!
