This song was written as a result of studying history. The main drive of the song is that Jesus condemned a religious group known as the Pharisees because He considered them at fault for the deaths of the prophets - ironically, the same prophets they built their doctrines on. There is a strong similarity between what happened in that instance, and what has happened in church history, with the massive, bloody destruction of quiet & peace-loving Christians, simply because they would not acknowledge the doctrines set forth by the church in power. The blood cries from the ground, even today.
