This is my take on the classic song from Derek and the Dominos Layla album. I''ve always liked the tune, but maybe I am a sad guy anyway. Except for jazz, I like the slow songs best on the albums. Torch song I guess.
This was obviously a singer/songwriter tune, but I am obviously not that. Also, my voice is deeper, so I tried to be loyal to the original mood with a totally different feel.
I came up with the basic groove years ago while programming for my solo gig. It was when the cars were popular. This started as a violin solo, it seemed to fit great. The vice I recorded on New Years Day 2011, after smoking 1 too many cigars on New Year''s Eve.
