Details:
To create music is first to listen – an exquisite attention – a silent conversation in the sanctuary of the heart - that awakens our truest, unfettered response. As in music, so in life.

On a warm summer night at the Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield, Maine, a thrilling conversation emerged between three friends – music played in the moment, never to be experienced quite the same way again. For those of you who were there, I could not have asked for a more engaged and enthusiastic audience.

My deepest gratitude to Max Dyer and Jeff Oster, for listening so well, for your remarkable contributions, and for your love.

From the hundred year old lights that once hung in a church, to the tree-filled windows at the back of the stage, the people who gather, and the good food shared, to the musicians who keep coming to play, and my friend, Carol Noonan, who had the dream – the Stone Mountain Arts Center is a magical place. This recording is a testament to what happens when it all comes together. Thank you, Carol.

Dana Cunningham is a pianist, composer, and public speaker who lives and writes in the mountains of New Hampshire and western Maine. Her primary interest is in performing – interweaving her original piano compositions and the spoken word, including the poetry of Rumi, Hafiz, Rilke, David Whyte, Mary Oliver, Maya Angelou, John O’Donohue and others – in concert, church, corporate, and retreat settings. Dana has a degree in Communication from Vanderbilt University where she also studied piano at Blair School of Music. She has a Masters in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. Comments about her presentations range from "deeply moving" and "soul-freeing" to "transcendent" and "centering."

In the words of the artist, "My intention is toward cultivating a greater sense of the present moment, and inviting the listener to open more fully to his or her own experience."
