Every now and then, chance reaches out and rearranges the world to its liking, such as bringing together four random individuals who only had one thing in common at the time: a love of music. Five years, later it’s high time for Bésame’s Primer Beso - their First Kiss.
Primer Beso is the culmination of many things: many hours of practice, many hours spent exploring the world of Colombian and other Latin American music, and many hours of laughter and the joy that comes through making wonderful music together. For this first, full-length album, Bésame takes you across Colombia from the Atlantic Coast to the Pacific Coast, with a few side trips to neighboring countries thrown in for good measure. The idea was to create a collection that showcases some of the amazing traditional music the region has to offer, but more importantly, a collection that makes you want to dance and sway to the music.
Those of you who have come to our shows have given us the opportunity to share music with humor and warmth. We hope our Primer Beso captures this so you can take it home.

De vez en cuando, la fortuna reordena el mundo a su gusto, tal como reunir a cuatro personas que sólo tenían una cosa en común en el momento: el amor por la música. Cinco años más tarde, ya es hora que Bésame lance su Primer Beso.
Primer Beso es la culminación de muchas cosas: muchas horas de práctica, muchas horas dedicadas a explorar el mundo de la música de Colombia y otros países latinoamericanos, y muchas horas de risas y la alegría que viene a través de hacer música maravillosa juntos. Para este primer álbum, Bésame te lleva a través de Colombia desde la costa del Atlántico hasta la costa del Pacífico, con un par de países vecinos incluidos por añadidura. La idea era crear una colección que muestra la música tradicional increíble que ofrece la región, pero más importante, una colección que les hace querer bailar con la música.
Los que han venido a nuestros conciertos nos han dado la oportunidad de compartir música con humor y calidez. Esperamos que nuestro Primer Beso capture esto para poder llevarlo a casa.
