FOLK: Modern Folk, ROCK: Acoustic

Details:
earBuzz Review: Harvey''s EP, "Ruff Tracks - Tune Up", has more ambitious production than "Open Spaces". A full band banks up Harvey and the recording is clean and commercially solid. Harvey''s voice has a laid back wise timbre to it - and we are again reminded of the Eagles - but not so much in the production. The opening song, "Time to Run" features an accordian as the main solo/featured instrument with full band. The sound is totally cool with a good hook. "Loretta" brings us back to the sweet sweet kind made popular by Defranco. .harmonies are enticing over a tune that grooves with an acoustic funk beat and snare snap that gets your neck moving. "For All My Friends" is an easy going feeling kind-of-a song - nice. 5 well done tunes in a country/rock flavor.

Tom Harvey has been writing and performing music and written work across the country for over twenty years. Currently he has been performing as a featured artist for the Lassen County Arts Council''s "Words and Music" events, the Susanville Municipal Airport "AirFaire" where he was invited to be honorary Director of Music and Entertainment and the Diamond Mountain Casino.

Harvey was inducted into the American Society of Composers and Performers, (A.S.C.A.P.) in 1995 when the music from his moving rock musical "Sid Allen and the Devil''s Den", began gaining recognition on radio stations in CA, NY, Washington DC, VA, OR and elsewhere.

Harvey produced and performed "Sid Allen" in Santa Cruz and Monterey summer theaters. The unique project received accolades and reviews in California papers including Bay Area Musician, (BAM), The San Jose Metro, Monterey Press and Santa Cruz Sentinel. Sid Allen also received national attention from papers such as the Roanoke Times (Roanoke VA.) and the Wall Street Journal, where his song "Summer in Virginia" was presented as a candidate for Virginia''s new state song.

Harvey recently recorded in Austin Texas at Bismeaux Studios working with members of Asleep at the Wheel and various area players and combined some of the songs on his recent "independent label" CD release "Open Spaces". The new CD is a compilation of acoustic driven songs featuring vocal and instrumental tracks with a distinctive environmental focus. Harvey is currently preparing a new CD release, Rough Tracks that will debut in Santa Cruz in summer of 2005.

Harvey''s performance features original work as well as some unique cover songs spanning a wide range of musical styles and genre. Entertainers as well as performer Harvey''s shows provide humor as well as broad spectrum of toe-tapping music. Set list is available on request.
