MP3 Tadhg Cooke - Live At St Kevin's

A document of an intimate performance for a secret gig in Dublin''s city centre. Warm, cuddly, and breathtaking.

8 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Folk Pop, ROCK: Acoustic

Details:
"Bell X1 fans will be familiar with Cooke - he contributed vocals to their "Flame" single and tours regularly with them (the band''s Dave Geraghty returns the favour here, appearing on guitar and backing vocals). The 25-year old Meath man is a tireless live performer and this follow-up to his 2005 debut Wax & Seal was recorded on his ingenious Living Room Tour, during which he played at private homes throughout Ireland."
"he wins the listener over through the sheer enthusiasm of his performance, while his literate lyrics, recalling similarly inclined artists as Paul Simon and Steve Forbert, keep the interest high on his best songs, such as ''George''s Street Arcade'', ''Like A Stone'' and ''Roadmap''. He more than proves his worth - the audience responds with enthusiastic applause."

Set The Scene...

On a cold February evening, thirty people arrived at an address in Dublin''s city centre, for a secretive and intimate live performance. The players would be mere inches away from the audience. An atmosphere musicians thrive in. The audience, melted together by our collective body heat, were crammed into the living room on chairs, stools, futons and cushions.

"Live At St Kevin''s" captures one of our intimate living room performances from 2006 for your listening pleasure. There are no edits, cuts or overdubs here. This is audio verité. You can hear glasses clinking, the faint thud of a falling foot, and other sounds associated with a living breathing audience. We hope you enjoy listening to these songs as much as we enjoyed playing them on that night in Dublin.

Thanks to our wonderful hosts Sean & Ciara for making the night possible, to Phil Hayes for capturing everything on tape for us, and finally thanks to all of you who gave up their Saturday night to spend it with us in a beautifully strange church in the capital.

- Tadhg Cooke (July 2006)
