Who is this Chris Tarry guy?
Chris Tarry is one of Canada’s most successful and celebrated electric bassists. With two Juno Awards for best Contemporary Jazz Album (Canadian Grammy''s), six Juno Award nominations, three West Coast Music Awards, four Jazz Report awards for group of the year, three National Jazz Awards and other high profile accolades he has established himself as one of North America''s top jazz musicians.
His work as a founding member of Canada’s jazz super group Metalwood along with other high profile work since moving to New York has seen him share the stage and recording studio with some of the top jazz musicians in the world such as John Scofield, Ben Monder, Jim Rotondi, Wayne Krantz, Mino Cinelu, Tommy Smith, Keith Carlock, Anton Fig, Chris Cheek, and DJ Logic.

The Chris Tarry Group has been in existence in many different incarnations since 1994. With seven award-winning albums ranging from guitar trio''s to large 15 piece mini-big bands Chris Tarry has constantly pushed the envelope of jazz when presenting his music. Seven sold out concert tours and many festival appearances across Canada have made The Chris Tarry Group one of Canada''s most successful jazz groups. Regular appearances in New York, Los Angeles, and across Europe have also started to increase the band''s international exposure.
Chris'' experience playing all styles of music is a huge influence on the type of music he writes. Always eclectic, always soulful, and always memorable, The Chris Tarry Group brings you the history of contemporary jazz warmly wrapped with the ability of some of the greatest players in the world.

Pete McCann (guitar) - Pete McCann is the leader and guitarist of his own jazz quartet in New York City. His CD''s You Remind Me of Someone, and Parable are available on Palmetto Records. He has performed or recorded with: Kenny Wheeler, Dave Liebman, Kenny Garrett, Peter Erskine, John Patitucci, Gary Thomas, Greg Osby, Bobby Previte, Randy Brecker, Brian Blade, and The Maria Schneider Orchestra.
Kelly Jefferson (sax) - Saxophonist Kelly Jefferson has a Bachelor of Music from McGill University in Montreal and a Masters degree from Manhattan School of Music in New York City. Kelly has performed with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, The National Arts Centre Orchestra, The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Maria Schneider, Bill Holman, Ray Anderson, Phil Woods, Clark Terry, Michel LeGrand, Nicholas Payton, Brian Blade, as well as Ray Brown, Sonny Fortune, Renee Rosnes, Denzal Sinclaire, and Dee Dee Bridgewater, among others.
Dan Weiss (drums) - Dan has performed and or recorded with David Binney, Village Vanguard Orchestra, Ravi Coltrane, Lee Konitz, Dave Liebman, Wayne Krantz, Kenny Werner, Ritchie Beirac, Jazz Mandolin Project, Uri Caine, and others. He has been touring Europe and the U.S. extensively for 6 years with many different projects. Dan is one of the most in demand drummers in New York.
Jon Cowherd (piano) - Jon is one of the most in demand piano players in New York.
