"Wondrous" was originally penned in front of a crowd of eagerly awaiting teenagers ready to worship and pour out their hearts before God. Stemming back to 2005, the song has gone through a bit of an evolution. Originally entitled, "All Praises to the King," the song was written for a worship gathering of students I helped lead at the time. I originally had spent an enormous time reading the Psalms and just bathing in the emotion and words of the Psalmist before and to God. I found the language therein provocatively intimate and free. I had also been mulling over a verse from Isaiah 63:1, in which God responds to his prophet, declaring that he is "mighty to save." I found a lot of passion behind that idea and married it to the chorus and verses of the song. I''ll never forget when Hillsong released their song "Mighty To Save" - it was as if they had taken the words right out of my mouth! Actually, God''s mouth! It became an instant hit all over the world, and as the saying goes, "there''s nothing new under the sun." In any case, I was excited that there were other ministries and worship bands out there declaring such a wondrous truth! Over the years, as I have grown as an artist, so has the song and its meaning. By the time I began to record it back in 2010, I was excited to see how the song had captured the hearts and ears of those I''d played it for. When we began wrapping up production on it, I knew it was the single I wanted to release first. So here it is! Enjoy.
