Neil Cribbs began playing music at the age of five. He explored instruments such as violin, piano, trombone, and drums. Early in his life he primarily was influenced by symphonic music and groups from the 60s such as Cat Stevens, the Beatles, and James Taylor. At the age of sixteen he found his mother''s guitar stashed away in the attic and decided to learn the ins and outs of the six strings hovering high above the fretboard. He began exploring the world of Alternative Country and Americana. Bands such as Uncle Tupelo, Ryan Adams, Richard Buckner and the Old 97s paralleled with Joni Mitchell, Ani DiFranco, Beth Hart, John Prine, and Taj Mahal. After recording a small album entitled "35 Sound Start" in 2006 the press, almost immediately, sold out. Neil’s first studio album "Marionette" has pushed him into full-time touring musicianship. His sophomore studio album "Windshield" contains elements of Rock, Blues, Country, Folk, and Symphonic music. Neil has played the southeastern United States in venues from the Wilmington, NC to Memphis, TN to Charleston, SC. Neil performs his haunting and moving yet distinctly Southern songs using the traveling troubadour’s tools of choice: an acoustic guitar, a harmonica, and his soulful voice.
