Munir Hossn was born in Brazil in 1981, to a Lebanese father and a Brazilian mother.
He grew up in a very diversified musical environment.
At the age of 5, his musicality began to express itself, he spends hours on his first guitar, a gift from his uncle. He then plays several instruments and draws attention due to his personality and originality. At 10, he shares the great music stage in Salvador, Bahia, taking part of several projects, he then joins a Brazilian latin jazz group in which he plays with musicians older and more experienced than him, from whom he will learn a lot.
He has a very peculiar way of playing, mixing harmonies of Bossa-nova, Frevo, Choro, Samba, Maracatu, Afro Brazilian rhythms such as : Aguêre, Adabi, Adarrum, Arujá, Bravum, Runto, Igbin, Ilu...
Munir Hossn is now one of the leading exponents of music and Afro-Brazilian culture, spreading his art from Moscow to New York.
He has recorded with top ethnic Brazilian alternative music, such as Peu Meurray, Saul Barbosa, Gilberto Gil, Lenine, Gustavo d''Dalva and Tito Oliveira, among many others…
It is at the age of 23 that he feels the urge to travel the world and here he is in Europe. First Spain then France.
He has collaborated with great artists such as Alex Acuña, Javier Ruibal, Mayra Andrade, Joe Zawinul Syndicate, Mokhtar Samba, Seamus Blake, Kirk Covington, Loïc Pontieux, Gary Willis, Vincent Bidal, Hermeto Pascoal, Catia Werneck, Rim Banna, Paulinho Lêmos, Woz Kaly, Jerry Gonzales, Francois Constantin, Iyexá ...
