Introducing Mark Gordon Fee
Mark is a trained, seasoned Pastor having received a BA in Christian Education with a minor in music performance from Wheaton College. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, Massachusetts.
An engaging speaker and teacher, Mark is known for his warm personality, fun and passionate teaching style, and gifted ability to make scripture come alive. He is a dynamic worship leader and songwriter and has been playing piano, singing, and writing for most of his life. He excels in drawing worshippers into a deep and intimate connection with the Lord through a dynamic flow of hymns, choruses and Scripture.
While in seminary, Mark met his wife, Robin They began attending the Vineyard MetroNorth in Melrose, Massachusetts where Mark served as the Senior Pastor for 18 years. He stepped down from that role in 2005 to begin First Loved Ministries. Mark, Robin and their five children make their home in Greenland, NH
The Story of First Loved Ministries…
In 1989, after 18 years of being a Christian, I found myself deeply discouraged by how little I truly loved God and others, especially my enemies! I began to cry out to God daily for a heart transplant praying the words of Ez. 36:26 “Remove from me my heart of stone and give me a heart of flesh!” One day, He answered my cry by speaking to me through 1John 4:19. Though it reads, “We love because he first loved us,” I heard Him say it this way in my heart: “Mark, the ability to love will not come through a transplant. Your ability to love is the result of, the fruit of, Me loving you first. You love because I first love you.”
Over these past 18 years, He has taught me how to experience His love, both in quiet times of worship and in the busyness of the day, in two essential ways: by listening to His words of love to me spoken by the Holy Spirit through Scripture and through seeing His love for me through my actions and the actions of others. Along the way, He has helped me to see a number of beliefs and painful experiences that prevented me from really believing in and receiving His love for me.
Today, I not only know that He loves me in my head, but I daily experience His love in my heart and feel genuinely compelled and empowered to love Him and others with “all my heart, soul, mind and strength.” As my family, friends and congregation began to notice the change and wanted to know what had happened to me, I began to teach what I was learning. Thus, within this relational network the ‘ministry’ aspect began, as we learned together to follow Jesus having been “first loved to love.”
