Chicago born and bred Shawnc K’pris, formerly known as K''Pris has been wowing the audiences since the age of 2 with her soulful vibrant vocals. She has come a long way from singing at church, elementary chorus, high school choir and female R & B group to become Shawnc Kpris.
At the tender age of 2 she was discovered and told by her mother to have a powerful voice to be so young. To her, music was her everything and her life. Towards the ending of 2001 she was selected to begin a journey in an all-female R&B quartet called 4Te’ where she shared the lime light with 3 others. They began recording and performing live at huge events and venues throughout Chicago, IL. During mid-2003 the group and management dismantled and went their separate ways. She then moved to Tampa, FL to pursue her solo music career by signing with independent label Ophir Entertainment where she recorded and released her album “Virgin Territory” in early 2005.
She had one of the hottest R&B/Hip Hop records of 2006- 2007. She has broken out of the Midwest and South with her cutting-edge, trend-setting, national debut release. Buzzing from the streets to the clubs with catchy lyrics and mind-blowing hook laden melodies, this well-crafted gem is radio friendly, and proves it with radio adds and club nationally.
Her awesome abilities will turn heads no matter what urban/pop/rock/dance flavor you’re into. With styles ranging from Destiny''s Child to TLC, Gwen Stefani, Salt n Pepper, and Madonna she''s got the goods. Her hot debut single "Pick It Up" peaked at NO. 3 on Billboard Magazine’s Top selling R&B/Hip Hop sales chart in the June 24th, 2006 issue. She also earned Pick Hit single in New York City via its number one record pool S.U.R.E music pool. She earned the same for the number one Record pool in the country, Starfleet music pool. She debuted on Starfleet''s top independent records chart at no. 20. She also earned CMJ''s 5th most added record to hip/hop college radio playlist nationwide for 2 weeks in a row. "Pick It Up" was her first single in rotation nationwide on major radio.
In December 2010 she released her newest single "The Watchers" featuring Young Cashus in hopes for the same response nationally.
