Red Embers started in the winter of 2000 with the goal of becoming a band of spirit and passion that assigned meaning to their music.
Red Embers grew. At times, they are hard and wailing and then, slow and haunting. They continue to garner intensity by bringing new sounds to the world of alternative rock.
Chris Boorman’s bass, varying in intensity, provides an even, muscular flow (and his keys and acoustic guitar are part of the act as well). Chris Roehl’s and Dave Nguyen’s emotive lead guitar ranges from surreal to roaring levels. Bill Muskett and Steve Phillips drums provide rock steady support as they build and break out whenever necessary. Finally, Bill Sweeney’s vocals shift high and low, shouts to whispers, joy to rage, tears to apathy.
They are fueled from their following and produce “fresh sound” with “quality lyrics and good musicianship which will help them stand out…” (The Recorder – Central Connecticut State University)
