Born in a small Midwestern town in 1964, Greg Krutsinger takes what he has learned and lived for the past 46 years and places those lessons and memories into his music. All of his ideas start with the most simple of ideas but, always end up with a deeper underlying meaning. Greg has been playing and writing professionally for over 25 years and has also worked with a handful of iconic American songwriters. Greg started out as keyboard and back ground vocals in the band band "The Acrylics". After a brief stint in two other local bands his view on music took a sharp turn to the road he is now traveling after seeing one of the pivotal bands of the local scenes" Joplin Mo and Pittsburg KS" A Picture Made. Forming a band with Jacque Garoutte "The Missionaries" both began writing and singing what was true and pure to their craft. The Missionaries were and still are a popular band in this area. No longer playing as a unit Greg started another project '' Georgia Overdrive" in which this was his first project in which he was the sole writer,and singer. The band stayed together from 1999 till 2008. Greg released another cd under the name Georgia Overdrive with songs " All Alone, Rev It Up, and Leave A Light On". In late 2008 Greg broke away from Georgia Overdrive and bean his own quest for a truer sound. With the influences of "SonVolt, Dave Alvin,Uncle Tupelo and Steve Earl" Greg is still evolving and growing. His self titled release Greg Krutsinger has just been released in 2011. Greg Krutsinger has been in music for 20+years. Hailing from Joplin, Missouri, Greg began his musical career playing the trumpet, then moving on to the guitar by age 19. He played drums for a year with Jeff Graham. Greg then discovered his love for writing lyrics and music, taking his lead from lifetime musical influences, such as Dave Alvin. Greg''s simple, honest lyrics are easy to understand, yet powerful in their ability to tell a soulful story. Greg is a seasoned performer, who simply knows his craft. His musical style can be defined as Midwest Americana, which has been peppered througout each of his 6 original recorded albums. Over the course of his musical career, he has had his hand in every aspect of the process. He''s known for being the front-man in bands, such as The Missionaries and Georgia Overdrive.
