Details:
Philoceraptor formed in the fall of 2009 in Vancouver. It was raining. However, the story begins with Steve and Justin at Bishop''s University in 2002 where an immediate kinship was christened on the Wednesday of frosh week via a Colt 45 chugging contest. They played a lot of covers, formed a couple of bands, and made a couple of houses rock on their foundation before they crossed Lennoxville''s rivers of broken glass for the last time. Justin went on to crisscross Canada, while Steve jaunted about South Pacific Asia.

Unknown to the others, Phil began his move from Cambridge, Ontario to Vancouver. He lived a rock and roll lifestyle that to this day remains shrouded in mystery; with the exception of a stint at a $20 a week Hotel.

All three ultimately ended up in Canada''s Austrailia. Phil and Justin would meet after spotting eachother''s phoneyness while working at a commercial leasing company. Afterwards, Phil took him to the little red jam space and studio The Track Factory. Soon after, Steve tossed on his backpack and moved jobless and clueless to Vancouver.

They would all meet one night at The Track Factory. While their individual musical influences read 1990s Canadiana, 70s vinyl and skate punk, they agreed to focus on the messy task of channeling some scrappy, bitter alter-egos and within fifteen minutes they had written their first song, "Grammar". Soon afterwards the first EP, "Four Songs" was released. Two guitars meshed thick crunchy chords with unconventional riffs over Phil''s viking thumps. Two voices rose above the clatter in some cockeyed approximation of harmony and Discorder magazine would proclaim the band as "certainly a band to be on the look out for" before they had ever played a live show.

Shows soon followed, the people jumped, and more songs were written; resulting in their current EP "Philosoraptor", which has more polish and party than “Four Songs” but no reduction to the sarcastic, spiteful narrative that''s becoming a sort of trademark.

You are sure to sweat as the three overindulged man-boys in Philoceraptor continue to write, drink cheap beer, and bring the white denim and spite-rock to a stage near you.
