The Pharos is a 5 piece rock band from Bloomington, IN, currently consisting of members: William Huster, James Reed, Nick Huster, Tom Weikert, and Adam Littman. The band originated under the name HD-1 in October 2009, playing house shows, parties, and local venues.
The Pharos recorded their debut album, Missing Person, in May 2010 and released it in September of the same year. The album is comprised entirely of songs written by bassist Tom Weikert and drummer Nick Huster during the first year of the band''s existence as HD-1. The album also prominently features keyboardist Adam Brown, who after recording decided that he was "too cool to live in Indiana" and consequently left the band to pursue his musical career at Berklee School of Music in Boston. Thus, guitarist James Reed, who had been present in the studio, stepped in to fill the gap in the rhythm section and became a full-fledged member of the band.
