I’m just another human being. I’m married to the beautiful Amy Lynch. I have a purebred Ragdoll cat, named John Wayne. I have a normal house. I drive a normal car. I wear normal clothes. My hair is thinning. I’m aging. I can see more imposing wrinkles beside my big brown eyes than what used to be there. I’m skilled at video, music, and writing just like an accountant is skilled at math or an attorney is skilled at contracts. Despite all of these things, people tend to consider me to be unique. I am not. What I am is a purposeful creative. Keyword: Creative.

I make it a point to continue creating. I believe we were all created to co-create with the Creator. I am simply a man who has decided to focus his mind onto his specific areas of creative skill. I believe that everyone possesses creative skills. We have a duty to discover them and practice them. There are many by-products of creativity, but creativity itself is the output of the soul. We can use this output to help others; to love others. Love them by helping them laugh. Love them by helping them cry. Love them by helping them find their creativity. Love them by helping them love. Keyword: Love.

I used to believe music was for my own benefit. I thought it existed to serve me. One of my closest friends committed suicide in 2008. I loved him. How did things created for my own benefit help him? They didn’t. Thrown back and confused, I rediscovered music as a great gift to us all, which means that my ability to create it exists to serve others, whether it be through a message about Christ and my life with Him or through a smile that brightens someone’s overhead raincloud. Then, I discovered a skill for creating videos, and they are the culmination of my music, writing, and visualization abilities. Videos intertwine all my abilities and force me to put my best foot forward in every area for which I have trained and excelled. Keyword: Trained.

Do you believe I have a talent for music? Do you believe I have a talent for videos? Do you believe it all dropped in my lap? Being creative requires hard work, but it is work for which we all receive a sense of purpose. Our jobs make ends meet. They are necessary, and sometimes they join our creativity. But our job is not our jobs. Our real job, the one that matters the most, is to discover the raw creativity within us. Then, dwell on it. Mold it. Shape it. Use it to love others. Keyword: Within.

What is your best foot forward? What makes you proud of yourself, even when others don’t pay attention? The practice of creativity gives us all purpose so, what creative ability makes your heart tick? Discover the raw talent and cultivate it, practice it, improve it, and never settle for thinking you know all there is to know about it. We live in a world of competing stories. See what happens when you decide to forfeit the false ones and gain the true one of Love. This is my story. It is the same yours is meant to be. Live in it.
Keywords: Creative. Love. Trained. Within.

From my heart to yours,
page lynch

PAGE LYNCH BIO

It wasn’t necessarily what he’d always planned. He had pushed against it for so long, but his strength to resist was breaking. There was no question that God had called him.

That statement could refer to Jonah on his way to Nineveh. It could be Saul, struck blind on the way to Damascus. Or it could be Page Lynch, a humble musician who loves to praise God with the songs he writes on his guitar. Perhaps it doesn’t sound like a struggle, but Page had long held a belief that the use of instruments in worship was unacceptable to God. In college, he began to search the scriptures and realized that his beliefs didn’t stand up to God’s Word. “I have to follow His call wherever that leads,” Page explains, “even when people don’t understand. He’s given us all a role in His story, and sometimes that means we have to tune out the other stories being told.”

Page’s debut album Remove Your Shoes creates an atmosphere of truth that both invites and produces reverent awe, in much the way Chris Tomlin and David Crowder do. He titled the album appropriately—it stands as a reminder that we are constantly in God’s presence, and our only appropriate response is to live a life of constant worship.

In the short time that he’s been pursuing this new calling, he’s worked toward acquiring a degree in theology and ministry at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. It was in Nashville that Page first caught the attention of Joey Elwood, President of Gotee Records. “Initially, I was drawn into Page’s work with the song ‘Adonai,’” Elwood says, “but this new album, Remove Your Shoes, is just great.  What I love about this work is not just the musicianship, but what Page has to say in his songs.  It''s always refreshing to hear an artist with a clear ministry vision, and that is definitely Page.”

“Adonai” is a song that keeps garnering attention for Page. Industry professionals and fans alike can’t seem to get enough of it. “I wrote the music for it while I was feeling very guilty over my sin and the ongoing battle with it. The apostle Paul describes the Christian life as a race that we are running. I remember reading that and thinking, ‘God, I feel like I’m crawling.’ When I first started writing the lyrics, what came out was ‘I am crawling back to glory,’ but when the forgiveness that Christ bought for me on the cross really began to settle into my heart, I felt the truth of Paul’s words, my tempo quickened, and the phrase quickly became ‘I am running back to glory.’”

It’s that kind of honesty and humility that draws people like magnets not only to Page’s music, but to him as a person as well. He has a way of making his audience members feel encouraged and important when he speaks to them after shows. He’s goofy and loveable and all the things that set people at ease around him. There’s a total lack of the kind of pretension one might expect from a burgeoning musician.

Page and his wife currently live in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where he’s working on a book that will serve as a companion project for Remove Your Shoes. The book shares the stories behind the songs on the album while delivering a quirky discourse on the removal of shoes in God’s presence in biblical accounts. And Page’s own story, of casting off all restraint and following Jesus regardless of the cost, serves as a perfect lens to magnify the glory of the God who has been present with us and faithful to us throughout every generation.
