Bach Reloaded

The music takes you on an journey to a Bach you''ve
never heard before and will not hear after. Some pieces you might
recognize, others will be new in the way they are arranged and
performed.

BWV 561

Originally an organ work . Arranged for violin,
viola, piano and cello. Bach''s authorship has been doubted, but recent
research considers Bach as the author.

The arrangement on this CD is very unfamiliar and probably very
different to all interpretations you have previously heard. Consider it
as an unknown work.

BWV 532

An organ work, written by Bach between 1708-1717. A piano
transcription was later done by Ferruccio Busoni (1866-1924). On this CD
you hear an interpretation for strings and piano. The tempo is fast -
fasten your seat belts.

BWV 1052 - Piano Concerto.

This work was written 1738 for harpsichord and orchestra. It is said to
be a transcription of a lost violin concerto in D minor.

This interpretation with violin, viola, cello and piano keeps a steady flow
and is played very fast. Due to the piano sound its character is
very different to the harpsichord version that you will also find on this CD.

BWV 650 (Kommst du nun, Jesu, von Himmel herunter)

Originally written for organ 1747. Now rearranged for strings.

BWV 551

Written 1708 for organ. This piece has previously not (or not often)
been performed on other instruments. Again a different a fresh approach
with lots of color and texture.

BWV 543:

The Prelude and Fugue in A minor, BWV 543 - written between 1708 & 1717
- was originally composed for organ. On This CD it is arranged for
violin, viola, cello, piano and bassoon.

There exists a famous piano transcription by Franz Liszt. But this
interpretation has nothing do with it, since the piano is not the
leading instrument and the main melodies are played by the violin. The
tempo is upbeat and much faster than the usual organ performances. This
transcription has been carried out very intuitively, and it has nothing
to do with romantic music.

BWV 1068

Air on the G String. Probably a must. This work has been performed a
thousand times because of its memorable melody.

BWV 715

Written by Bach 1703 for organ. Here you will hear very little
organ and more strings instead.

BWV 565

Again one of Bach''s most popular pieces for organ, written 1708
and lately used in „Fantasia".

This version uses various instruments that turn from heavy to light and
vice versa. No organ, but violin, cello, oboe, piano and others.

BWV 1020

A typical chamber piece, performed on flute, violin and
harpsichord. Fast.

Homage to Bach

Written by Artie Fichelle. With many counterpoint
elements. Originally composed for piano. Now for for piano and strings.
