South African-born music producer, multi-instrumentalist and sound designer Dino Sofos (a.k.a. MOAB) based in London, UK was the ex-keyboardist for the London line-up of alternative rock band Fetish. They had success in their home country South Africa and released 2 albums, one with Virgin and on East/West in Germany called "So Many Prophets". They supported Skunk Anansie and Lenny Kravitz amongst others and had a number of top 10 single''s and a no.1 in the South African radio charts.
After touring with Fetish at venues on the London circuit, he left the band to focus on writing his own music which is a unique mixture of electronica, chill-out, breakbeats and soundtrack music, occasionally mixed in with vocals.
A number of single''s were released on chill-out compilation albums, particularly the song "Breathe Sunshine" which helped launch a same-named afro-chilled album. The song, co-produced by Craigie Dodds (Sugababes producer) and featuring vocals by Delenta, was voted 4th best in 2004 by the Big Chill in the UK and caught the attention of an international AIDS charity Dance4Life. World''s no.1 DJ Paul van Dyk who remixed for U2, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran and New Order, remixed the song for the charity and boosted the profile of the artist internationally. After this the original song was released on an Australian chill-out album and reached no.2 on the international Apple iTunes electronic stores with no label publicity and has since been remixed by other DJ''s including mega-Drum & Bass outfit Black Sun Empire, DJ Irene and G-Spott from Holland.
In 2005 Dino Sofos released his debut album titled "Awakening" internationally on Apple iTunes through the indie Future Zoo Music label, which has since been re-released under the name MOAB in the UK. The music is a mixture of Massive Attack-style pop songs sprinkled with Orbitalesque-dirty breakbeats and ambient-chill soundscapes and features guest vocals from Lucie ''Hermione'' Burns who sang with Asian Dub Foundation, Jose Padilla (Cafe Del Mar) and Afterlife (Steve Miller). It has been enthusiastically received by the media industry with five of the songs having been used on TV trailers for Sky Sports and Channel 4 (UK).
