A veteran of the gritty New York City hard rock scene, Cone has since relocated to Arizona where he has built a studio and has recorded numerous solo collections which feature his distinct vocal style and the powerful rhythms that made Cone a staple of several regionally successful bands on the east coast. His ability to compose songs that balance musical depth and accessible hooks has garnered attention at home and abroad. Steve Cone’s music recently caught the attention of metal historian and MTV producer Rick Ernst who will feature Steve Cone’s guitar work in the upcoming documentary Get Thrashed. The feature about the history of thrash metal is due to be shown at major film festivals as well as on cable and satellite systems in the near future. A European DVD release is also in the works. Steve Cone is proud to be associated with the project and his aggressive tracks fit right in.
Steve Cone has recently begun producing other artists in his home studio. Currently he completed a CD with David Shaw, a hard rock singer and songwriter from New York. Cone is playing all the guitar tracks on Shaw’s latest release, entitled Walkin’ on a Wire. On display is Cone’s versatility on the guitar as well as his stellar production abilities. This title is also available at CD Baby.
Distortion again showcases Cone’s maturity as a songwriter as well as his undeniable talent as an axe man.
