STONE GROOVE was formed 11 years ago on the Central Coast in Santa Cruz, California and is most notably known as the "Reggae Rock Blend Masters" or "Reggae on Red Bull". Famous for getting kicked out of venues and taking things a bit too far, they have cemented themselves as a local favorite. After breaking into the club scene in 1994 they have played in all the local hangouts and rocked countless parties.
Since the successful release of their debut album on their own record label (Cab Stand Records), the group has: received airplay on local radio stations (KMBY- the Scene, KUSP, KZSC), went on a tour of the Lake Tahoe area, appeared twice on local television, had a song featured on the new compilation album called "Skankin'' Cali Style", which features reggae bands from all over California, and continues to gig weekly in the Santa Cruz area. Their second album titled "Musician''s Life" is available now. With 12 more Stone Groove originals, the album is packed full of raw sound and fearless lyrics that these guys are known for.

"With all the surf/rock/reggae going around town these days, it''s nice to hear someone mix it up with some lowdown dirty blues. With plenty of Taj Mahal-style harp playing and a laid back, sexily funkalicious reggae vibe, Stone Groove nails down its unique sound with audaciously bawdy lyrics. Songs like "Put You on the Bed," "Get Fucked" and "Fuck Lights" all sound groovy and mellow even while their Chef-style "lay you down by the fire" lyrics shine with randy enthusiasm: "She don''t wanna fuck with the light on, and I don''t wanna stop till it''s all gone away..." Ooh yeah baby, me neither. This is their CD release party, so come with some extra dough and a booty full of love.
