I''ve been trying to tell people about John Schott for years . This record is a great example of both his compositional and guitar voices. John knows the
guitar vernacular (from Son House to Bill Frisell) and uses it organically as a unifying element in these compositions.

I LOVE YOUR NEW CD! I just love a lot of the things about this CD. Los Angeles is beautiful. Doom Indigo touches a musical part of me that has not been touched before (this is good!). The guitar in Hollersdale & Avalon (resonator w/slide??). I did want to hear more of the main theme in Purge and Plunge!!!!! (the bop section) way cool! The "Mongolian Scat Singing" (must be Lorin?) - where in the heck did that come from (Avalon)? I love "The World Is Upside Down". Great scoring! Excellent effort. You have made a Miles Davis meets Frank Zappa (yes, there is humor in music) w/many turns along the way!

Yeah; you should be depressed. How can somebody be making music that is this good and have no gigs or tours? Impossible. I''ve listened thru Los Angeles and besides the fact that it''s brilliant, it''s also full of hooks and things that less avant garde people can relate too.
