This album is a collection of hip-hop/funk/rock songs written/produced/recorded by Tony Bell. These tracks were recorded from 2004-2008.
Music is the language of the world. And hip-hop was all Tony could hear on some days. These songs are extensions of the rhymes written by a boy, who struggled with life and relationships, a kid who had to learn fast and grow up in Las Vegas, abandoned at first, but saved in the end. These songs depict a boy who became a man by giving it his all, and avoiding the obvious temptations of a lost city.
This is a story told to the world through the language of hip-hop.
The first two tracks on the album were recorded in a “freestyle studio session” between three musicians who knew each other very well. These two tracks are only a couple of many improvised freestyle sessions Tony recorded with many talented musicians.
Tracks 3 and 7 are songs exclusively featuring Tony Bell on all instruments and vocals. Tony first created and arranged the music, before combining some of his own journal entries creating these personal songs of his past.
Tracks 4, 5, and 6 were co-produced by his long-time collaborating partner Dan Smith, and all three songs are remixes to an original project band called American Green Team. The 4-piece band consisted of a drummer, acoustic guitar, (Dan Smith) bass guitar, and Tony Bell on vocals/samples/loops, this band never released any albums, but started the madness that is Tony Bell, and ignited the fire that burns with passion and love to create music every day.
Life would seem so much darker without music to light some hope in the world.
