Triangle Exception''s version of the classsic Rush song was recorded for participation in the "Trans-Genre" project of the https://www.tradebit.com website and forum. The goal of the project is for each participant to take a reasonably well-known tune, and recast it in a different genre.
Realizing early on that their version of Red Barchetta would be even longer than the original, the boys decided to take a few twists and turns down the trans-genre highway. The song starts in a sort of jamband build-up, eases into some 70’s folk-rock, then visit’s the 90’s for some alt-rock and alt-punk, back to the 70’s for some funk, then soft rock, and finally – back to the jamband build to the end.
So if you’ve always wondered what it would sound like if you flipped through the radio, and they were all playing the same song but in that radio’s programming style – enjoy!
