Juan Mejia, Miami based DJ & Producer, has achieved a solid reputation in the east coast music scene for the past decade for his unique brand of Club dance music. . Juan in 1995 moved to Orlando to attend Full Sail of the Recording Arts where he got his Audio Engineering degree .While he was in school he discovered his true calling in the DJ world . His passion for music landed him a residency at the top club in Orlando called “Firestone” There, he had the chance to spin with greats such as Josh Wink, Sasha and John Digweed. Juan was also invited to play in the first Zen festivals and at Simons Club in Gainesville FL, which introduced him to all kinds of electronic music and a true feel for the underground music scene. This was the time when DJ’s played records and there were no cd players.
Once Firestone closed, Mejia was determined to move back to Miami , In no time Mejia had residencies at Groove Jet, Mansion, and Crobar. He was at Crobar from 2000 to 2003 where he became well known for his versatility of Music styles. Spinning at Crobar gave Mejia the opportunity to become involved in the Deep House movement that was happening at the time. He started to experiment with the sound and found himself playing all over the country in places like San Francisco Chicago , New York ,Las Vegas , South America and Europe. In 2003, after a great run at Crobar, Juan decided to start his own record label “DUTCHIE MUSIC” where he was able to produce and promote the sound he has been pushing for the last 7 years. Dutchie in this time has become a prominent underground label in the U.S. (check https://www.tradebit.com for Discography). Now in days Juan continues to DJ at “Liv “ doing corporate events at the Foutainbleu Resort in Miami Beach. After a 15 year DJ career Mejia now has DUTCHIE music as one of the most thriving labels for deep house in the U.S. He continues to travel to the United States, South America and Europe, playing his well-crafted sound .
