Allow me to introduce, recording artist, singer, songwriter, producer, and entertainer…JJ EVANS. Born into a musical family and being the second of three boys, Jimmy Jermaine Evans found his destiny at an early age. Whether it was singing in the church choir, playing the trumpet in the high school marching band, or winning local talent shows, music has always been a part of JJ’s life. He continued to cultivate his musical talents, after graduating from East Hall High School in 2004, by attending Georgia State University and accepting the role of Assistant Director of the school gospel choir. Evans earned a BBA Degree in Managerial Sciences in the summer of 2009, which would assist him in his music career. Other than being a businessman, JJ enjoys creating new ideas and spending time with family and close friends. He has a passion for the youth, and also enjoys giving back to his community through his church and by participating in local charity events. Many people don’t know he’s been a local barber for the past five years, and he enjoys designing clothes, styling his family and friends, modeling, acting, and giving motivational speeches. These other creative talents allow Evans to step outside of the “music world,” and appreciate other areas of his life.
When it comes to music, JJ EVANS has two successful albums under his belt! His first, “Winding Road,” was released in April of 2008 and is still being heard in the CD players of many. With hit singles, such as Winding Road and Right Thing, Evans’ debut CD made a great impression on his musical peers and the public. “TAKE 2,” his second album, was released in June of 2009, continuing the trend of producing great music! Even though his second project was much different from the first, songs like Church House and Love Transplant won the souls of everyone who witnessed his comeback. JJ’s fans never cease to be amazed at the extravagant productions over the past three years of his solo career! He’s definitely an entertainer and it shows every time he graces the stage. JJ has been compared to many great artists, but I find it difficult to place him inside of a box. As a Contemporary Christian Artist, his style is so unique and I haven’t met a single soul who doesn’t enjoy his charismatic delivery and approach to music! I guess it’s because Evans’ vision is to simply inspire and empower his generation to get saved, discover and embrace who they are, and to own the destiny God has given them.
It’s definitely not over for JJ…this is just the beginning!!! He will be releasing his 3rd studio album during the summer of 2011, entitled “SUPERMAN”, which is expected to win souls all over the world!!! He plans to continue to seek God’s plan for his life and work at fulfilling his purpose. Evans was born with all the tools for success, and will use them to build an empire of great music and a strong brand for the world to enjoy. He’s a true STAR and it’s only because he understands the power God has given him. JJ EVANS shall conquer the world through his music, fulfilling his mission, “…to move someone, to touch everyone, and to inspire the world!”
