"First off, I''m a HUGE baseball fan. So, despite the title, this is not intended to put down the Great American Pastime! This was initially written as a possible Simon Apple song sometime in the late 1990''s - yet another song that never fully came to fruition, or fit stylistically. However, Buzz (Saylor - Simon Apple drummer/lyricist), did write lyrics to this song. I honestly can''t recall if the lyrics were ever completed, but, this was the title (or working title?) he gave it - and it kind of stuck. We did include this on the River To The Sea Bonus CD''s. I kept many of the original tracks on this version... I simply added a few small percussion things, harmonica, and some minor textures. I re-mixed and remastered this version in November 2010."
