Jason F, born Jason Farwell, is a hip-hop artist from Pasco, Washington. To classify him as a rap artist doesn’t do justice to his original rap-singing style or incredible lyrics. Jason prides himself on the fact he makes music based on the average persons life. Instead of talking about being a millionaire, selling drugs and living the thug lifestyle he discusses the reality of the world, love, family and being a single parent.
Jason F. got his start at home learning and practicing music with his father. He says that he started learning the fundamentals on the keyboard and then moved on to having jam sessions on the drums with his dad. Music is his passion and he continued to develop his knowledge growing up by learning the trumpet, bass guitar and eventually moving into the elements of hip hop. In 1999, as a single dad who had to stay home while his homies went out and partied, Jason bought a beat machine and began writing songs and making beats. He got his first start in the studio with the Skratch Hounds in 2001, a group comprised of Steven (MO''MIL) Moore, Tyree (Big Ree) Edgecomb and Kyle (Pork) Adams. Another artist Jason F. worked with and helped establish him as a hip-hop artist was Menace O.N.E. Throughout the years Jason has continued to educate himself on production and sound engineering, polish his lyrics and find his true rap voice.
Jason F.’s latest work has been done at Rainmaker Studios with Brook Lloyd and his CD will be released SPRING 2011. Currently he is working on his next album and is always striving to improve and grow musically as well as lyrically.
