Building from the standard electric guitar/bass/drums formula, the five members of Verlee for Ransom incorporate acoustic guitar & cello as well as piano, horns, organ & strings with the help of multiple keyboards/synthesizers. Infusing elements of classic rock, chamber pop, jazz, alternative, Americana, Latin, bossa nova, powerpop, alt country, ska and even doo wop… they have branded their own unique style of piano & guitar driven Indie Alt-Pop.
This may sound like a lot going on (and it is), but when anchored by the thoughtful & sincere songwriting and heartfelt vocals of 17 year old singer, songwriter & multi-instrumentalist, Keira Verlee… it all comes together in a very cohesive and impressive performance.
