Details:
For those unfamiliar with the group here is a brief summary: the Montreal quintet was formed on February 2009 by the frontwoman who had composed several songs and wanted to perform with a group that was formed progressivementpour Valfreya form (the name was inspired by Nordic mythology).

This EP, entitled "First Chronicle" consists of 3 tracks which set the style of the group. Turning now to the biopsy of the subject:

Like any good group of folk metal that respects itself, Valfreya offers a lively music, energetic and epic that makes you want to listen to assume that his best armor, gird his sword at his side, stick a few donuts and demons Sit at the nearest tavern to drink a beer with his companions.

The EP begins with "Deity''s Grace ", a very good piece, opening with an epic intro keyboard desire, eager to join a guitar, then add voice, drums, a haunting flute and a keyboard divine. The piece alternates between violent passages and quiet passages where the voice of Crapule happens as if by magic a guttural tone in a melodious voice. Note that the break at 3:08 is a mystical beauty.

"Inferno" is also illustrated that the group wants to highlight: during 6min45 you browse a maze of fire and mystery and is the piece that struck me the most live, where all the group ''s has been working hard to make us an unforgettable moment. The riffs are insane and aggressive desire, no doubt about it: this piece comes out well and truly from hell!

"Confront immensity" as he is my favorite piece of the cake, there is everything you would expect of a great group of folk metal band Ensiferum style, a catchy and melodic guitar, keyboards to underground epic, a wonderful voice again alternating between classical and death records, a battery sometimes seeming mad (to our delight) and a frenetic bass! The style of the piece derives from me on the Viking metal, and it will undoubtedly be a future anthem for upcoming concerts!
