Details:
What Could Be is my third CD release as a leader and my first release for the new Speak Jazz label. My previous two releases, The N. Glenn Davis Quartet A Different View and Come Right In The N. Glenn Davis Quintet featuring Phil Woods appear on the Jazzed Media label.

This recording represents the collaborative efforts of three veteran jazz musicians performing in the piano trio tradition. In my many years of playing jazz I have always enjoyed the unique group interaction offered in the piano trio setting. I find it appealing when each member has a role, yet there still remains a special balance and equality in the communication. Joining me on this recording are pianist Mark Soskin and bassist Peter Dominguez whose incredible talents and creativity ultimately shaped the character of this trio.

This recording features three of my compositions and three by pianist Mark Soskin, as well as three carefully selected classics, “The Dolphin” by Brazilian composer Luiz Eca, “Blackberry Winter” by Alec Wilder, and “Sometime Ago” by Sergio Mihanovich.
