Details:
Nilton Ramalho was born in Rotterdam, Holland. Son of Cape Verdean parents, he grew up listening to his father’s records, James Brown, Steel Pulse and Cape Verde Show, just to name a few.

In 1997, Nilton joined forces with Adilson Dos Santos Ben-David, Nelson Oliveira, Nelson Freitas and Quatro was born. Their first hit was ‘Hoje em dia’ (now a days) on the compilation album ‘Mobass’. Their first hit single ‘Si bo kre’ (if you want to) from their debut album ‘4-Voz’ (four voices) proved to critics that they had the vocal ability and raw talent to be a success.

Their second album ‘Bem Conche’ (get to know us) produced many hit singles such as ‘Kazanga’ (don’t get mad) which would later become their biggest hit song. ‘Kazanga’ was written by Nilton and Nelson de Freitas and was co-produced with M&N productions (who would later be responsible for Nilton’s debut solo album ‘Dangerous’). Their second album elevated them to number one spots on several African music charts, and in 2002, at the peak of their success, they were awarded “Best Group” at the first annual Cabo Verde Music Awards. Quatro Plus was responsible for a new sound called ‘GhettoZouk’ which placed them on the map. After ten successful years and their third and final album ‘Ultima Viagem’ (the last voyage), each went their separate ways to focus on solo projects.

Award winner with his group Quatro Plus, Nilton Ramalho decided to launch a solo career and his first solo album entitled ‘Dangerous’ in 2009. Nilton once more joined forces with M&N Productions and ‘Dangerous’ became a reality. Again, another hit song, “Si Bu Era Di Meu, ” written by Nilton himself, would propel him to the top of the music charts. Dangerous included several other hit songs including “Para”, “Rainha” and “Por Favor,” and it sold more than 60,000 copies worldwide.

Nilton is an artist greatly admired in the Cape Verdean, American, and European markets and beyond. ’Dangerous’ pushed him to the top of the Zouk/Kizomba market. With hints of R&B, Hip Hop, and most influential, Cape Verdean music, this album demonstrated that Nilton Ramalho is an artist that has proven himself as a singer/songwriter, who would like to continue to make vast contributions to the world of Cape Verdean and world music. He has performed in various countries including Cape Verde, Holland, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Spain, Britain, Angola, Mozambique and the United States.

Now with a new record deal with an American label called ISIS Records, Nilton Ramalho presents his second solo album entitled "Stronger," April 2011, exactly 2 years after his debut album. Once again, this album demonstrates Nilton''s versatility as a singer and songwriter. Incorporating lyrics in English, Cape Verdean Criolo and French, the songs are an elegant mix of love ballads and dance beats that reflect his suave style and seductive voice. The 14-track album includes a remix of his No. 1 hit song "Si Bu Era Di Meu" which pushed him to the top of the Zouk charts in 2010. Nilton Ramalho has paired up with world re-known producers in the Cape Verdean and Zouk markets including M&N Pro, Toetstar and Modafied Beats, J Beats and Street Smarts Entertainment, TL Dreamz and Mr. Nino Productions, to bring forth and album that will sure to please listeners and club goers world-wide!
