Details:
Modern Art was formed in 1986 by California natives Gary Batsch (guitar) and Sharon Marie (keyboards). While living in Northridge, they teamed up with Rich Lansen of New Jersey, and the trio was born. They were among the first to take an Apple IIe computer on the road and into the studio. Using it as a sequencer, they synched it up with an Oberheim DMX drum machine, 360 Systems MidiBass and Ensoniq Mirage sampling keyboard. They toured Southern California and the Northwest. The song "Meltdown" was written during the time of the nuclear disaster in Chernobyl of 1986. It was recorded that summer at Hitman Studios in Los Angeles, and got airplay on SoCal station KLOS. By the end of the year, vocalist Lansen returned to Jersey, leaving the 2 remaining band members to pursue other projects.

Years later, in 2011, Meltdown was remixed and remastered at B2 Studio in Bakersfield, CA (Batsch and Marie''s own studio), following the nuclear crisis in Japan.
