A singer songwriter couple from the mountains of Colorado who also serve as youth pastors at their local church, New Creation Church of Glenwood Springs. Their heart for the local church and seeing its members encounter a real and loving God through worship and the Word is evident in their vertical worship and teaching. Steve and Shawn have written and recorded three albums at their home studio over the 9 years that they have been married and many songs have been integrated into Sunday worship services in their home church as well as others. During their service on the New Creation Church worship team they have had the opportunity to lead worship at "Rally in the Rockies" opening for Big Daddy Weave as well as for a Casting Crowns concert. They have just completed their first professional studio recording with Atlanta based producer/engineer Jason Hoard (Fee, Matt Papa, Glory Revealed, etc). The album features songs already in use at their local church. The focus of many of the songs is to know God personally in a greater depth than ever before.
Steve is 6’6” tall, a youth pastor, photographer, mc, television producer, triathlete, wanna-be chef, all around funny guy and has been writing songs since childhood. In high school he started playing the guitar as a way to put music to his songs and he quickly began recording sappy love songs into his tape recorder to send to friends. Later in college a trip to a national convention was his first experience with modern worship and he was hooked. He began to write worship songs and decided to branch out musically in order to record his new songs. He learned how to play the drums, bass, and many other random instruments. After he graduated from college with a degree in Business he married his beautiful wife, Shawn, and they began writing and recording worship music together. After Shawn completed her degree they moved to the Glenwood Springs area where they felt called to be a part of New Creation Church.
Shawn is 5’9” tall, a youth pastor’s wife, interim worship department director, lover of all things mocha and has her piano performance degree. She teaches piano privately from her home and has been on the praise and worship team since she was 15 years old. Shawn began writing songs for worship when she was 18 years old and has developed a passion for writing songs that draw people into worship. Her heart for connecting people to God is evident as she plays, sings, and ministers. She met her husband in college while studying music and now she and her husband have two handsome boys with whom she invests much of her time and energy. Along with her husband Shawn leads several songs at her church and on their albums. Outside of music she helps her husband minister to the students in the youth ministry.
