The Sassy Soul and Blues Diva is a native of Atlanta, Georgia who was born into a family of preachers, musicians and singers. By age five, she was taking piano lessons from an aunt, singing in the family church choir, and regularly performing recitals. She participated in the orchestra, band and chorus throughout her school days, and sang with girl groups. While attending Clark College in Atlanta, she organized a sister act and started performing around campus and on the chittlin’ circuit. She fronted R&B bands and worked extensively on the college circuit, for corporate events, country clubs, and popular Georgia venues. In the early 80s, she managed EJ’s Showplace, a popular nightclub that operated on the east side of Atlanta. Later, having established her own band, The Eastside Players, she became a staple at Thomas Seafood Restaurant in Atlanta. Since then, she has been writing and producing, extensively, and performing in the U.S.
