Soul Fashioned was founded in 2008 by Tracy and Peg Smith, a husband and wife team who have been serving in music ministry since 1997. Tracy and Peg served many years at Spring Valley Church of God in Reading PA, currently the largest Church of God in PA, in both the praise team ministry and the Nations of Praise Choir. The Nations of Praise Choir was blessed with the opportunity to minister with the likes of Steve Green, David Phelps and Gregory Hines.
God called Tracy and Peg to step outside of the ministry of Spring Valley to write and record the music that He had put in their hearts. Birthed from a heart of worship was Soul Fashioned praise. God led them to put together a recording team, using the wonderful and anointed talents of many of the individuals they had served in ministry with over the years. Thanks to the sacrifices and contributions of these precious individuals, and of course, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Soul Fashioned worship has become a reality.
During the writing and recording of this project, in June 2009, Peg was diagnosed with breast cancer. She kept her eyes focused on God and His promises, and continued to write and to record the ‘new song’ that God had given her. During the chemotherapy treatments, she continued in music ministry in her home church, to give God the glory at all times and to be an encouragement to others. She refused to be silent, but instead, wanted to shout the praises of God even louder. Through the surgeries, the chemotherapy, the radiation and other treatments, God has been, and continues to be faithful! To God be all the glory!! Without His grace and His patience, none of this would have been possible.
Soul Fashioned was created from a heart of worship, to bless God, to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to be a message of hope and encouragement.
