Ragtime is a syncopated early jazz style popular between the late 1800s and about 1920. The Harlem Rag was a popular rag written Tom Turpin, a 300lb piano player and owner of the Rosebud Saloon in St. Louis Missouri. This was his first published rag. Doctor Drums and the Ragtime Kidd have been performing the Harlem Rag since 1982.
