Details:
Elbow Coulee emerged in 2007 from a rugged mountain town nestled deep in the heart of the North Cascades. Since it''s inception, the band has taken to writing hard driving rock scores that flirt with indie-pop sensibilities. Inspired by musical greats such as the Pixies, White Stripes, and Franz Ferdinand, Elbow Coulee''s songs touch on both the most graceful and most primal facets of the human experience.
Musicianship aside, the members of Elbow Coulee have won over fans throughout the Pacific Northwest with their electric stage presence. Their show''s consist of many exciting theatrics, and over the top rock moves that always keep the crowd entertained. The band has played with Seattle''s veteran rockers Panda Conspiracy and other national acts such as LBC Sublime. As the Weekly Volcano states, “They [Elbow Coulee] strip the music down to its core and play it with passion just as Cobain and the boys did back in the day”. Such a reaction is understandable considering the band''s severe lack of stage fright and unquenchable thirst for rock.
Recently, their song, “Tip the Waitress” was added to the Fresh Sounds 2009 album put out by JAB Records. The band is also excited at having the opportunity to be featured on the soundtracks to two upcoming movies- the song "The Screen" will make its debut in a medieval comedy film coming out in 2011 written by Damon Abdallah and several songs will be included in the upcoming independent film "The Absent" by director Sage Bannick. Elbow Coulee''s has just recorded their second album at Robert Lang Studio in Seattle. The self titled record has already enticed several companies to bite at the chance of making deals with the band. However, Elbow Coulee takes pride in their independence and won''t give it up so easily. As the bassist of Elbow Coulee says "we take the art of entertaining very seriously, but never take ourselves too seriously."
