I find the idea of mixing electronic sounds with acoustic sounds and instruments to be very intriguing and often experiment with the blending of these two sound sources. This piece is a result of such experimentation. There is a steady rhythmic drive present throughout the piece presented by a synth patch and electronic drums, which create a very industrialized and mechanical feel. The acoustic instruments (Flugelhorn, guitar, piano) present a more “real-world” sound to the piece, bringing to mind an industrialized image of a public transit system.
