Originally recorded in November of 1980 and self-released, the Lizerds 7" single became the starting point for punk rock in the Central California valley, and helped pave the way for Bakersfield''s alternative music scene. Recognized by collectors and influential college radio stations such as KALX at the time, the track "Is It Late?" earned a name-check for the band in Jello Biafra''s early punk compilation "Let Them Eat Jellybeans", and was later included on volume 12 in the Killed By Death series. Today, the original record generates bidding wars by collectors when copies become available at auction, selling for close to a thousand dollars.
For the 30th Anniversary of its release, both "Is It Late?" and the flip-side, "Out Of Hy Hands" have been restored and remastered for improved audio. A limited-edition vinyl single in different colors, signed and numbered by the band, will also be issued.
