The Attractions Band is a Dance and Show Band true to the ''50s and ''60s Carolina Beach Music Era. With three lead singers, one sax, two trumpets, two keyboards, guitar, bass, and drums, The Attractions Band has a rich, full sound.
Beginning in 1965, when a group of teenagers from Burlington, NC, formed a local band in the basement of
Hatley''s Music Store, until 2009, when the band was formally inducted into The Beach Music Hall of Fame, the band has evolved through various phases, including the years when the band no longer took to the stage.
Years went by as the original members were busy with careers and family. But the love for playing music was still a major part of each one of the original players. A few of the members continued playing on weekends with different groups and the other members were still holding onto the dream of being on stage once again.
Until the summer of 1999. After 30 years a reunion of the band was organized and once again The Attractions were all together on stage. What started as a reunion turned into monthly rehearsals, then weekly rehearsals, and since 1999, the band has traveled across North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Florida, doing what they all have loved since 1965, playing Carolina Beah Music.
Members have come and gone, new members have been added, new songs included, but the beginning ideals of the original band has held true: Long Live Carolina Beach Music and Long Live The Attractions Band
